Project Description

The objective of the project is to increase the reliability and capacity of the existing North Mercer Island Interceptor and Enatai Interceptor components of the regional wastewater system in order to convey the 20-year peak wastewater flows projected through the year 2060 from service areas in North Mercer Island, the southwest portion of Bellevue, and the Town of Beaux Arts Village.

JTS provided project control services for King County, which included document control and cost estimation. JTS reviewed the project construction cost estimates at 60% and 90%. The JTS cost estimator checked the estimates against the supporting assumptions of how the project was to be constructed, verified cost estimates were commensurate with construction schedules, checked the cost estimates against current construction market conditions (e.g., local market conditions, inflation, escalation), identified any significant items of work that appeared to be missing from the estimates, and reviewed estimate costs of specialized construction elements including in-water construction and lining of offshore interceptor.
