Admiral Way Bridges Seismic Retrofit

Project Description
As part of the City’s Seismic Retrofit Program, the Admiral Way Bridges were retrofitted to enhance public safety and preserve critical transportation assets in the event of seismic activity. Key improvements included strengthening steel column bents, retrofitting and securing bridge footings, installing new bracing at pier bents, adding transverse and longitudinal restrainers, retrofitting abutments, truss reinforcement, slope stabilization, strengthening with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), and repainting structural steel components.
JTS provided Construction Management (CM), Resident Engineering, and Inspection services during the final construction phase and project closeout. Services were delivered in compliance with the City of Seattle’s Construction Administration Manual (CA Manual), Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction, and Standard Plans.
