Project Description

University Link consists of a 3.15-mile light rail extension that runs in twin-bored tunnels from Downtown Seattle north to the University of Washington, with two stations along the alignment. The University Link serves three of the largest urban centers in the state of Washington – downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill, and the University District.

JTS provided a team of document control specialists for the entire construction duration. Our staff performed document control/records management and document control system guidance concurrent with implementation and design. JTS assisted with contract documents and technical specification review for the general contractor’s document control procedures, coordinated RFI’s and submittals, and supported the engineering staff with other administrative duties.

The JTS team documented source records stored within the document control system. Sound Transit later used these source records to support internal audits and quality checks and to ensure Federal Transit Administration requirements were met. With established document control processes and procedures, the team was able to maintain contract compliance.
